Cheap minibus with driver: how the group saves

A cheap minibus with a driver doesn't mean a bad trip. Here's how the group saves: the right vehicle, smart dates, and no wasted kilometers.

Minibus with driver in Tirana at a cheap price for groups

Every group has a budget, and it's only natural to want to make the most of it. But in my experience, the best way to save on transportation isn't to find the cheapest deal online. It's to plan your trip wisely. Here are some simple tips I recommend to every group to help you pay less without traveling badly.

February

  • Choose the vehicle according to the number of people, no larger than you need.
  • Divide the price per person and compare it to taxis.
  • If you can, avoid August weekends and very early or very late hours.
  • Plan the route so that the minibus doesn't travel miles in vain.
  • For 2027 private itineraries that you book directly with us, you get 20% discount.

The right tool for the group

The most common mistake I see is booking a large minibus for a small group. If you are 7 or 8 people, a minibus 8+1 or one minivan It's cheaper than a minibus for 18 people, and it takes you just as comfortably.

But beware of the opposite as well. If you have a lot of suitcases, bicycles, or strollers, don't get a vehicle that's too small just to save money. Tell us how much luggage you have and we'll tell you which vehicle really suits you.

Calculate per person

When you look at the full price of a minibus, it may seem high. But divide it by the number of people. A transfer from Tirana Airport to the city center, which usually costs between 130 and 180 euros, for 15 people comes out to about 10 euros per person. This is often less than what you would pay for three or four taxis, and everyone is traveling together.

When you travel it matters

The price varies by season and time of day. Weekends in July and August are the busiest times. Even very early morning or late night departures can change the price. If you have a choice, a trip in June, September, or on a weekday is a better option.

Early booking also helps. When you write to us in time, we have a better chance of giving you the vehicle that best suits you.

A well-thought-out path

Often groups plan trips where the minibus goes back and forth several times on the same route, or returns empty from a long distance. This is costly. If we build the route together, we can make every kilometer count: for example, from the airport to Berat with a stop in Durrës, instead of two separate trips.

Airport transfers without unnecessary costs

For most groups, the trip starts and ends with a transfer from the airport. This is where you can save without realizing it. You send us your arrival and departure dates from the beginning, along with the number of people and luggage. This way we choose the right vehicle for both days and you don't pay for a minibus that is larger than you need.

If your group is arriving on two flights that arrive close to each other, it's worth waiting a bit and leaving together, rather than two separate transfers. And if the first day of your tour starts right after you land, the airport transfer can simply be the start of your tour, without any unnecessary hotel stops. The cheapest trip isn't the one with the lowest price. It's the one where you don't pay anything in vain.

Where it's not worth saving

There is one place where I never advise you to save: safety. A price much lower than everyone else often hides a vehicle without a license, without insurance or without a receipt. With a group of people on board, this risk is not worth it. Read What are the risks of unlicensed transportation?.

We give you a fixed and written price, which includes the driver, fuel and tolls, with no surprises at the end. write and we send you the offer. Our office responds 24/7.
